The Rebalance Team is Driving Investing Literacy Across the U.S.

In February the Rebalance team was able to illustrate our dedication to enhancing investing literacy throughout the United States. As thought leaders in the financial services industry, it is our mission to provide education to individuals and small businesses alike.

Several of our team members were invited to participate on panels and presentations focused on this theme, both in-person and virtually.

In early February, Rebalance Managing Director Scott Puritz was recruited to join a panel at the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) Summit held in Washington, D.C., titled “Market Outlooks and Opportunities.” Scott and fellow panelists discussed how RIAs are positioned, how they manage risk, and how they grow client portfolios in domestic and global markets. They also covered current market trends and how to harness opportunities to best serve clients. As the sole advocate of index investing (i.e. “passive investing”) on the panel, Scott brought a unique perspective to the group of all active managers.

The following week, Rebalance Managing Director Mitch Tuchman presented to a group of Harvard Business School Alumni of Northern California, in an excellent webinar titled “5 Costly Mistakes to Avoid When Hiring a Financial Advisor.” This virtual presentation was engaging and yielded many interesting questions and ideas.

Speaking of Harvard, and keeping within the Harvard theme, Scott Puritz participated in another panel at The Harvard Club of Philadelphia on February 21, titled Investment Literacy: Filtering the Noise to Become Better Investors. At this event, Scott spoke to Harvard alumni about how society can improve financial literacy, what people without a financial adviser should do, and how he and the Rebalance team advise clients on current hot topics, such as cryptocurrencies.

On the BetterK and small business side, the Tufts Dental School invited Scott Puritz and David Ranney to present a webinar titled “The 5 Biggest Issues with Dental 401(k) Plans.” This seminar was formally sponsored by the Tufts Dental Alumni Association, and provided an hour of Continuing Education (CE) credit for all who participated. Together, Scott and David delivered tips and strategies for improving dental 401(k) plans to an audience of dental practice owners and employees.
